The seminar will discuss hidden aspects of restoration and some of the surprises that are often found even under a reasonable looking paint job. There will be examples of the different approaches to metal work and discussion of why it costs so much to paint a car.
Tom has experience restoring numerous Alfas and other Italian cars, including a barn find step nose GTV. MOONLIGHT CAR SHOW
FRIDAY, JUNE 23 • 9 PM - 10 PM • EMBASSY SUITES PARKING LOT
After dinner you can take part in another Convention tradition, the moonlight car show.
This is where we gather in the parking lot to look at all the members’ cars, see who brought what car and what cars are new to members. We’ll talk about our Alfas and just generally relax after a wonderful meal. This year will be special because there will be restricted Convention parking, so all our cars will be together in one large lot. Just grab your favorite after dinner beverage and stroll out to the parking lot.
CONCORSO d'ELEGANZA
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 • 9 AM - 1 PM • HARRISBURG PARK
Our beloved Concorso d’Eleganza
will grace lush sprawling lawns at the Harrisburg Park Amphitheater on Saturday. The park is a short 10-minute drive from the Embassy Suites.
Alfas may be entered in the Judged Class for the Certificato d’Oro, or the Show and Shine classes to be voted on by the participants and spectators.
Harrisburg Park is a wonderful venue to show our cars. It has all of the amenities needed for a pleasant day including rest rooms, shelters, a snack shop and children’s playground.
Since 2004, to encourage the restoration and/or preservation of older Alfa Romeos, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club has been awarding the Certificato d’Oro to those Alfas at least 25 years old that meet the 95 point criteria of the Judging Guidelines established and published in the “National Concorso Manual” (latest edition available at www.aroc-usa.org).
It is truly wonderful to see these older Alfas as if they just rolled out of the factory; they are a credit to their “caretakers” for maintaining Alfa Romeo’s contribution to automotive art.
The Shine and Show “Concorso” is always a crowd pleaser as decades of gleaming Alfa Romeos of all varieties grace the lawn. What a great and relaxed opportunity to talk with fellow Alfisti about all things Alfa. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
MEMBER SWAP MEET
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 • 2 PM - 5 PM • EMBASSY SUITES PARKING LOT
Do you still have that Spica pump that you took off the Spider? That Giulietta radiator that you knew you were going to need? Bring them and all those other dusty old parts to the Alfa del Piemonte Swap Meet! Find the GTV trim bits that are the last thing you need for your restoration! Look for the manuals that you don’t have! This will be the first AROC swap meet in the East since 2019, and it will be huge. We will be in the large parking lot behind the Embassy Suites, with plenty of room. Display your parts on your truck, van or car, or bring a table, or spread a tarp on the asphalt. It’s just like Hershey, only all Alfa!
BANQUET COCKTAIL HOUR
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 • 6 PM - 7 PM • EMBASSY SUITES BANQUET LOBBY
Light appetizers will be served along with a cash bar. Piccione wines and Southern Distillery Bourbon will be available at cash bar in addition to the usual beverages.

CONVENTION BANQUET
SATURDAY, JUNE 24 • 7 PM - 10 PM • EMBASSY SUITES BANQUET ROOM
A Tuscan dinner is our theme, transporting us to a piazza in Italy
for the evening. Entrées for dinner include Beef Ossobuco alla Milanese, Chicken Franchese, Italian style white fish, and Vegetarian Lasagna. There will be tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert. And of course, there will be an opportunity to purchase wine to have with your dinner.
GUEST SPEAKER: DAVID HOBBS
The speaker for the evening is David Hobbs. David will regale us with exploits of his racing career and his time as an announcer on ESPN for the F-1 races. David raced almost anything with four wheels.
His first race car was his mother’s seven-year-old Morris Oxford. He later graduated to his father’s Jag 150, and was doing pretty well with that until he had an unfortunate accident where the car went into a ditch. From there things got better. His father was a self-taught engineer who produced one of the very early automatic transmissions, which David used in one of his early race cars. He started racing a Lotus and became great pals with Jim Clark and Sterling Moss.
His career as an international racing driver spanned 30 years at all levels including sports cars, touring cars, Indy cars, IMSA, Can-Am and Formula One. He participated in the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Daytona, and made twenty starts in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. In 1971 Hobbs won the L&M 5000 Continental Championship. He was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2009.
In 1976 Hobbs started a second career in Broadcasting at CBS and Speed, providing commentary for Formula One alongside Leigh Diffey and former Benetton mechanic Steve Matchett. He also worked for ESPN, serving as an analyst for their Formula 1 coverage from 1988 until 1992.
Now retired, he enjoys sharing his experiences with car enthusiasts all over the world.
AWARDS BRUNCH
SUNDAY, JUNE 25 • 9 AM - 11 AM • EMBASSY SUITES BANQUET ROOM
As our Alfa del Piemonte Annual Convention comes to a close, we hope you will join us for a hearty brunch offering of eggs, bacon/sausage, French toast, pastries, juice, fruit, and bagels.
We’ll also present the awards for the many events. Our Awards Brunch is the perfect setting to share the camaraderie and memories of the convention with fellow Alfisti. What better way to say “Arrivederci!” than to share a meal with some old friends and some new.
